Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 03/08/2023

CNY Land Trust – Public Assembly Permit Application

The Town Board discussed a public assembly permit application with a representative from the CNY Land Trust for Saturday August 12th from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Woodchuck Hill Road for 100-250 people. The Town Board requested that the Attorney for the Town draft a resolution to approve the public assembly permit. 

Kinsella Quarry Application

The Town Board discussed the application made by Thomas Kinsella for the expansion of the 12+ acres of the existing Quarry on Route 5. The matter was being considered for referral to the Town Planning Board. A vote to refer the matter to the Planning Board was held and the motion failed with a vote of 3 Ayes and 3 Nays. 

Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee

The Town Board set a date for the Town of Manlius Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee to hold a public hearing on March 28th at 6:30 PM at Town Hall to hear public comments of the draft comprehensive plan. There will be an Open House prior to the public hearing starting at 5:00 PM.

Hire an Appraiser for the Potential Town Hall Property

The Town Board approved the fee proposal and assignment agreement from CNY Pomeroy Appraisers Inc. at a rate of $3,400 to prepare an appraisal for the potential town hall property located on N. Burdick St. 

Town of Manlius Police Department DASNY Grant

The Town Board accepted a $50,000 SAM grant awarded through Senator Mannion’s office for the purchase of an electric vehicle and equipment for the police department.
