Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 01/11/2023

Annexations to the Village of Minoa 

The Town Board held public hearings to consider the annexation of two sperate parcels to the Village of Minoa for the purposes of accessing utilities.  The Village of Minoa will be declaring themselves lead agency for SEQR purposes at an upcoming meeting. The annexations will appear on the January 25, 2023 Town Board agenda for decision.

-    Greiner Application - 4.572 acres of land Tax Map No 055.-01-06.0 

-    Caron Application -  3.79 acres of land Tax Map No 054.-02-26.1

A Proposed Amendment to the RM Zoning Classification – Public Hearing Date Set

The Town Board set a date for a public hearing to consider amendments to the RM Zoning Classification to allow for mixed use development and making technical changes. The amendments further define retail use as small scale retail limited to 50% of the square footage of any building and adaptive reuse.

The Public Hearing Date has been set for February 8th at 6:35 PM.

4600 Enders Road Manlius NY – Zone Change Application – Restricted Agricultural (RA) to Residential Multi-use (RM)

The Town Board held a public hearing on the proposed zone change. Several residents spoke in favor of the proposed amendment. The public hearing was held open until February 8th to run alongside the proposed amendments to the RM Zoning Classification. 

Letter of Intent to Purchase 6.22 Acre +/- of Vacant Land Situated off N. Burdick St.

The Town Board authorized the Supervisor to sign a letter of intent to purchase 6.22 Acre +/- of vacant land situated off N. Burdick St. to begin the process of potentially building a new town hall. The Town Board stated that there are several more steps in this process where public input will be gathered and further discuss the needs of Town Hall and the Police Department. 

Kayak Floating Dock – Poolsbrook

The Town Board authorized the purchase and installation of a handicap accessible floating dock per the amended quote submitted by BoardSafe. The purchase and installation is partially funded by grants and is being completed in cooperation with the Old Erie Canal Working Group. 

Presentation on Proposed Updates to the Operating Permits & Town Board Approvals for Uses

Code Enforcement Officer Poitras gave a presentation on his proposed changes to the Town Code that relate to Operating Permits & Town Board Approvals for Uses. The proposed changes are related mostly to Food Trucks, Hazardous Uses & Occupancies, Firework Permits, special events and other specific operating permits and uses.
