Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 8/24/2022
Open Podium
Stu Weisman, Citizens Aquarium Review, spoke in opposition of the proposed aquarium at the Syracuse Inner Harbor and discussed reasons why the aquarium is not a good fit for the Syracuse area.
Mary Teske, Manlius, stated that she attended a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting where the issue of time stamping documents in the Office of Planning and development was discussed. Ms. Teske stated that it is best practice to time stamp everything that is received and requested that the Town Board correct the time stamping issue.
The Town Board will draft a time stamp policy for all town departments and report back on the policy at the next meeting.
Town Business
Zone Change Application – Twin Shores – N. Burdick St. (Tax Map #086.-02-02.1, 086.-02-03.0, 086.-02-04.1, 086.-02-05.1, 086.-02-05.3, 086.-02-06.1) CA, RA To CA, RA, R5
The Town Board held a public hearing and approved the zone change request from CA, RA To CA, RA, R5. The applicant would like to construct multi-unit buildings.
Proposed Appletree Water District
The Town Board help a public hearing on the proposed water district. Residents of the district spoke in favor of the proposed district. The public hearing will be held open until September 14, 2022.
Zone Change Request – 4600 Enders Road – RA to CA
The applicant is requesting a zone change to allow for banquets and events in the excising building. The Town Board and the applicant discussed the best potential zoning classification for the parcel and the proposed use. The Town Board discussed their review of the Residential Multi-use (RM) and the proposed changes.
The Town Board tabled the matter until the review and amendment of the RM zoning classification is complete.
Zone Change request – Seven Pines 8104, 8108, 8112, 8116 Cazenovia Road – CA & RA to RM
The applicants appeared and the Town Board discussed the proposed zone change application. The Town Board requested that the Attorney for the Town prepare a resolution to set a date for a public hearing to consider the zone change request. The Town Board will set a date for a public hearing at the next meeting.
2022-2023 Fayetteville Manlius School District SIRO & SPO Agreements
The Town Board approved the 2022-2023 contracts with the Fayetteville Manlius School District for 3 School Information Resource Officers and 4 Special Patrol Officers.
