Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 6/22/22

Open Podium

Stephen Wowelko from the Onondaga County Federation of Sportsman Club read aloud a resolution condemning the Town of Manlius resolution opposing the Holiday Deer Hunt.

Barbara Emmons submitted a statement expressing concern about the proposed doggie daycare for the property located at 8291 E. Seneca Turnpike.

Jacob Gigler, Executive Director for Salt City Harvest Farm. Mr. Gigler invited the Town Board to an annual meeting on July 1, 2022.

Town Business 

The Town Board approved the 2022 summer roster of recreation employees for the summer recreation program. 

Due to a publication error the Town Board held a public hearing and approved Local Law 2022-5 & 2022-6 again. 

The Town Board authorized the Town Clerk to submit a TE-9 form to the New York State Department of Transportation to request a speed limit study on Bowman Rd. 

The Town Board referred the Seven Pines zone change application for 8104-8110 Cazenovia Road to the Planning Board. The applicant has requested a zone change from Commercial A (CA) & Restricted Agriculture (RA) to Residential Multi-use (RM) to convert the second floor of the four existing two story office buildings to residential apartments. 

The applicants for the Zone Change Request 8291 E. Seneca Turnpike R1 to RA presented their response to the neighbor’s concerns that were discussed at the Planning Board meeting on June 13, 2022. The Planning Board held a public hearing on June 13, 2022 and issued a negative recommendation to the Town Board. The Town Board discussed the matter and will be conducting site visits at the location. The Town Board tabled the matter until the next meeting. 

Trash Update 

Residents can receive a smaller 65-gallon trash container at no cost until August 31st. July 13th – 5PM- Work Session – Emanuel Carter Jr, Associate Professor at SUNY ESF -The Town Board and other town officials involved in the Comprehensive Planning process will discuss the philosophy of zoning
