Meeting Highlights from the Clerk – 5/11/22

Open Podium

Stephen Benson, Manlius, spoke about the recent news bulletin that solar projects are on delay during a federal investigation of potential trade violation. Councilor Waters stated that she would ask Abundant Solar about this at their presentation during the June workshop. 

The Town Board will be holding a public workshop – work session with Abundant Solar regarding the community solar project on the retired landfill on Bowman Road. The workshop will be held on June 8th at 5PM. The workshop is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the Town Facebook page and YouTube Channel. 

Police Chief, Mike Crowell

  • Chief Crowell presented a draft countywide mutual aid agreement. The Town Board discussed and tabled the matter until the next meeting so that further questions can be answered. 
  • The Town Board authorized a hiring incentive program for new officers for the department. 

Town Business 

  • The Town Board entered into a contract with CW Analytics to perform a pay equity audit among town employees.
  • The Town Board authorized the Town Clerk to publish the bid package for the Tree Removal Contract for the Highway Department.
  • The Town Board authorized the signing of a highway permit with National Grid to work within the Town’s right-of-way on Whetstone Road.

Public Workshop - June 8th - Abundant Solar
