NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO DETERMINE IF A WARD SYSTEM FOR TOWN COUNCILORS SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN THE TOWN OF MANLIUS (the “Special Election”)
BY RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN BOARD, IT IS HEREBY NOTICED, that the Town Board of the Town of Manlius shall hold a Special Election on Saturday, September 23 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Town Hall, 301 Brooklea Drive, Fayetteville, New York (“Town Hall”).
The question to be determined at the Special Election is:
“Shall a ward system be established in the Town of Manlius for the election of the office of town councilor(s)?”
To vote in the Special Election, qualified Town residents/electors must be registered to vote either through the Onondaga County Board of Elections (“Board of Elections”) or through the Board of Registration that has been established by the Town Board at its August 23, 2023 regular meeting.
The dates and times for which Manlius residents can register for the Special Election with the Board of Registration are as follows:
September 8, 2023 – 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Town Hall
September 9, 2023 – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Town Hall
September 11, 2023 – 10: am to 2:00 pm at Town Hall
Absentee ballot applications will be made available at the Town Clerk’s Office to those who meet the eligibility criteria for an absentee ballot and who are registered to vote in the Special Election.
