The Town of Manlius includes different types of special districts that provide services for those who live in the district. Residents who do not benefit are not taxed.

The Town of Manlius includes 3 fire protection districts and 1 fire district. The Town of Manlius contracts with each village within the town to provide Fire & EMS Services for the fire protection district. In 2011, the Town of Manlius, villages and additional municipalities published a study of Fire & EMS Services.

|Kirkville Fire District||$245,069|
The Fayetteville Fire Department provides fire, rescue and EMS services to approximately 23,000 citizens over 18 square miles, with an average on scene time of just over five minutes. The membership of the Fayetteville Fire Department consists of approximately 62 volunteers and 19 career staff.
The Manlius Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the Village of Manlius, the Town of Manlius and the Town of Pompey. The Fire Department covers approximately 27 square miles of both residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The membership of the Manlius Fire Department consists of approximately 51 volunteers and 19 career staff.
The Minoa Fire Department provides fire, rescue and EMS services to 3,449 residents in the Village of Minoa and a portion of the Town of Manlius; totaling 11,000 residents. The membership of the Minoa Fire Department consists of approximately 41 volunteers and the Village of Minoa contracts with WAVES for their EMS Staff.
The Kirkville Fire Company is 100% volunteer and provides fire, rescue and EMS first responder service. The membership of the Kirkville Fire Department consists of approximately 30 volunteers. The Kirkville Fire District is run by a Board of Fire Commissioners elected by the residents in the fire district. Annual elections for fire district commissioners are generally held in December, and budget hearings are held in late October.
Trash & Brush
The Town of Manlius contracts with Syracuse Haulers to provide weekly trash pickup & biweekly brush services to Town of Manlius residents. If you live in the Villages of Fayetteville, Manlius or Minoa you are not in the Town's Trash & Brush district, please contact your Village DPW for trash and brush questions.
If you live in the Town of Manlius and would like to be enrolled in the Trash & Brush district, contact Sharon Lake at (315) 637-8815. If you would to opt out of these services and be removed from the Trash & Brush District, you must notify the Town of Manlius by September 1st to cancel either of these services for the next year.
