Community Relations

Agency sponsored programs are designed to increase awareness of the police function as well as each citizens responsibility in our society.

Programs

Community relations programs are conducted by department members and include, but are not limited to: 

Family Services Officer 

The Family Services Officer (FSO) is responsible for implementing programs designed to prevent delinquency, substance abuse, and victimization. The FSO teaches these programs to the appropriate age levels. The programs cover a wide variety of topics, including: 

  • The 911 System 
  • Abduction Prevention 
  • Alcohol and Drugs 
  • Bullying 
  • Cyberbullying 
  • Halloween Safety 
  • Harassment 
  • Internet Safety 
  • Knowing your address and phone number 
  • Peer Pressure 
  • Safe to Taste 
  • Staying Home Alone 
  • Staying with a Trusted Adult 
  • Summer Safety 

Adult Programs

The FSO instructs adult programs designed to promote awareness in the community in a variety of topics including: 

  • Commercial driver's education 
  • Internet safety for parents 
  • Responsible alcohol vending 
  • Senior safety
